Here is an example of some of the issues on which our research and development programme has focused:
- ascertaining optimum oxygen concentration for biochemical decomposition of organic materials
- biological decomposition of mineral oil hydrocarbons in contaminated soil
- investigating action of pressure waves in porous media
- assessing effects of aeration on the trace element composition of landfills
- researching effects of aeration on the carcinogenic potential of landfills
- investigating reduction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in soil by aerating with ozone
- ongoing development of injection technology (BIOPUSTER "Generation 3")
- optimising energy consumption of overall system
In addition, various remediation projects have been conducted by BIOPUSTER in association with universities, independent laboratories and engineering specialists leading to the publication of research reports, studies and diploma theses.
