Odour stabilisation and safety at workStabilising odour and making the landfill safe to work on involves BIOPUSTER treatment of the landfill for 4 to 6 weeks to bring the waste material into a stable aerobic condition.
Following treatment the landfill can then be opened up without risk to personnel and without risk of explosion or odour problems. This is necessary if the waste material needs to be relocated or if leachate drains or gas wells need to be installed.
Following BIOPUSTER treatment many of the complex health and safety protection measures normally required for personnel are no longer required. At the same time the treatment dries the waste material, which simplifies subsequent processes and reduces downstream transport and treatment costs due to the lower weight of the material.
